Each theme contains 150 words with clues. Random mixes the themes; Your own words lets you use your own content. Select a 9 × 9, 11 × 11 or 15 × 15 grid and filter by difficulty and age. Play in the game window or download an ad-free A4 PDF with an optional answer page.
Frequently asked questions
How do I create a crossword with my own words?
Choose “Your own words” and enter one word and clue per line, separated by a vertical bar: SUN | Star at the centre of our solar system. Use 3–20 different words, then generate the puzzle. Words that cannot fit or form suitable intersections are reported.
Can I print the crossword as a PDF?
Yes. “Print (PDF)” opens the preview. Download an A4 PDF and choose whether to include a separate answer page. PDFs and print previews contain no advertising.

General knowledge, animals & nature, geography, food & drink, science & technology, history & culture, sport & leisure and everyday life. Each theme contains 150 word-and-clue pairs. “Random” mixes all themes.
How do I solve a crossword online?
“Play now” opens the game window. Enter letters in the white cells and click clues to highlight their words. “Check answers” marks correct and incorrect entries.
Can I create an easy crossword for children?
Choose the children’s age group, easy difficulty and, if useful, the small grid. The age option filters editorial minimum-age ratings; easy difficulty adds the first letter to each clue. You can also use your own words for a particular learning group.
Do I need an account and are my words saved?
No account is needed. Your words and answers are processed locally in the browser for puzzle generation. Closing the game window keeps progress on the current page; reloading the page discards it.
